Ever heard of SAYA Designs?? Don’t feel bad if you haven’t. It wasn’t until they reached out to me that I realized what I’ve been missing.
SAYA Designs is a women-owned business that creates handmade hair sticks. But these aren’t just any hair sticks. Nope. These are made by Bali artisans. They handcraft the hair accessories from root wood and pieces they can salvage from abandoned plantations in Indonesia. Talk about turning trash into treasure!
If anyone knows anything about being a women-owned business that creates handcrafted designs, it’s me! In addition to the fact that I’m always looking for ways to put my hair in a bun. So, of course, I had to give it a try.
I selected one they named, The Barrette. It is actually fun to wear. I’m able to put my braids up into any style of bun I can think of. And that’s not easy to do with braids! I danced, worked out, and did everything you can imagine while wearing it and it didn’t budge.
The hair stick isn’t only nice to look at, but it also looks like it has a story to tell. Like, maybe it was passed along to me from my grandmother or great Aunt. I love, love, love pieces like that.
SAYA Designs takes their passion even further by planting up to 20 endangered tree species in the rainforest with each purchase. There is nothing better than spending money knowing that some of its’ profit will go towards benefitting others in some way.
Thoughts on this gorgeous hair stick?? Would you rock this?? Let me know in the comments…
